Ashley Ellis-Johnson, MSN, FNP-C, joined VitalCare Family Practice in 2024 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Ashley received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Virginia State University. She achieved an Associate Degree in Nursing from Bryant & Stratton College before further advancing her education and earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. With a desire to further help people improve their health, she received a Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Ashley’s dedication and compassionate care for her patients is evident as she was nominated for Nurse of the Year consecutively in 2017 and 2018. She also earned multiple daily recognitions during her time working at BonSecours Mercy Health.

Ashley enjoys being in family practice because it allows her to treat patients of all ages. She truly enjoys building genuine, lasting relationships with her patients and values open communication where every individual feels seen and heard.

Growing up in a small town in Patrick County, Virginia, Ashley appreciates the endless activities on the weekends in the Richmond area. In her free time, Ashley likes to watch movies, try new restaurants, sip a good cup of coffee and is always on the go with her kids’ sporting events.

When she isn’t caring for her patients or cheering for her children during their sporting events, Ashley enjoys relaxing and watching a movie! She also finds respite in cleaning and reorganizing after a long, busy week.
