Jean Jourdan, MSN, FNP-C, joined the VitalCare Family Practice team in Henrico in 2026 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University and her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from Georgetown University. Jean is nationally certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Her honors include a Nursing@Georgetown Tuition Scholarship and a nomination for Georgetown University’s Graduate Scholars Day.
Her clinical interests include chronic disease management, preventative medicine and helping patients improve their long-term health. Jean has a particular interest in supporting patients with hypertension and diabetes. Her procedural skills include suturing, incision and drainage and joint injections.
Jean chose primary care after spending much of her nursing career in the emergency department, where she saw how routine care and early intervention could help prevent or better manage many conditions. She values building lasting relationships with patients and strives to provide approachable, compassionate and nonjudgmental care. Her goal is to create a welcoming environment where patients feel heard, comfortable asking questions and actively involved in their care.
Outside of work, Jean enjoys swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, hiking, running, attending baseball games, listening to live music and traveling. New to the Richmond area, she appreciates its outdoor activities, history, food scene and convenient access to the mountains, beach and Washington, D.C. She is always looking for new places to explore and welcomes recommendations from her patients.
