WHAT IS ADHD?

ADHD IN ADULTS

ADHD begins in childhood and may go undiagnosed. The condition is mostly commonly diagnosed in children, as symptoms such as fidgeting and being talkative are particularly noticeable in a school setting. It’s also much more likely to be diagnosed in young boys than young girls due to the presentation of the symptoms. Adults may experience different symptoms such as low self-esteem and problems at work, home or with relationships.

ADHD TESTING WITH QBTEST

QbTest is an evidence-based diagnosing test that uses medical technology to detect ADHD in adults and children ages 15 and up. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence recommends it as the best way to test for ADHD in children and young adults.

At VitalCare Family Practice, we are here to help you prepare for your ADHD assessment with ease. Below, you will find some common questions and helpful answers about QbTest ADHD testing.

The test is performed on the computer and includes the use of a headband, motion-tracking camera and stand.

The test is performed in-clinic by our Physician Assistant, Ruchi Dixit, PA-C, MSPAS, who is certified to administer it and analyze its results.

The QbTest gives our provider objective data that determines an ADHD diagnosis. It also shows your results alongside people of your same age and gender who do not have ADHD. The report also shows the patients’ results alongside those of patients of the same age and gender who do not have ADHD.

It will vary slightly patient to patient, but ADHD testing typically takes only 15 to 20 minutes!
